Gout Test

Uric acid is produced from the breakdown of purines - a compound found in food and drinks. If too much uric acid builds up in the body, either from ingesting too much or excreting too little, it may cause crystals to be formed and accumulate in the fluid between joints. This causes pain and inflammation, known as gout. Excessive uric acid may also contribute to kidney disease.
